Chess 960 Champs

Club Captain Elliot Grant will accept entries on the night, but prefers that people email him using wellingtonchessnz@gmail.com ahead of time to enter.

The tournament will run for 3 weeks from the 2nd through the 16th of July. It is a rapid (25+5) tournament and there will be two rounds a night. As it is a Chess960 tournament it is not NZCF or FIDE rated.

Chess960 is a bit different in that the composition of the pieces on the back rank is randomised, hence things like castling may confuse players that have not played it much before. More information on the quirks of Chess960 here.
